Abstract

O objetivo do presente artigo foi relatar uma técnica de moldagem funcional utilizando uma moldeira individual modificada com a finalidade de realizar a etapa de moldagem funcional e registro interoclusal na mesma consulta. Paciente compareceu ao consultório odontológico queixando-se de não ter conseguido se adaptar a prótese total feita a um ano, assim, um novo tratamento realizando somente a prótese inferior foi proposto. A moldagem funcional e registro interoclusal foram realizadas na mesma consulta, com a finalidade de reduzir o tempo de confecção da prótese total inferior. O uso de moldeira individual modificada permitiu a redução dos números de consulta para a confecção de prótese total mandibular em situações que o paciente já possui prótese total superior e deseja realizar somente uma nova prótese total inferior.
