Sistemas de Retenção O’ring e Barra-Clipe em Overdenture Mandibular
Resumo
A insatisfação do tratamento com próteses totais mandibulares nos pacientes edêntulos tem sido uma questão constante na Odontologia. Muitas vezes, a falta de estabilidade e de retenção, resultantes de um processo fisiológico e de reabsorção do rebordo alveolar, leva à diminuição na força mastigatória, problemas de dicção e interfere até mesmo no convívio social. Neste caso, a reabilitação retida por implantes osseointegrados pode ser uma alternativa eficaz e segura de tratamento. Na impossibilidade de colocação de implantes em número e disposição adequados, para a confecção de uma prótese tipo protocolo de Bränemark, as overdentures surgem como uma alternativa viável por serem mais simples e de baixo custo e melhorarem, em relação às próteses totais, a estabilidade e eficiência mastigatória. Diversos sistemas de encaixe utilizados em overdentures nos implantes têm sido desenvolvidos no mercado odontológico. Desta forma, visando facilitar a escolha profissional, este trabalho revisou a literatura sobre os principais sistemas de encaixe: O’ring e barra-clipe, nos seus seguintes aspectos: grau de retenção, distribuição de tensões, dificuldade de higienização, perda óssea peri-implantar, ocorrência de hiperplasia, eficiência mastigatória e satisfação do paciente.Palavras Chave: Revestimento de Dentadura, Encaixe de Precisão de Dentadura, Implantes Dentários, Reabilitação.
