Abstract

Introduction: Periapical cysts (CP) are the most common intraosseous lesions found in the maxilla and mandible, caused by inflammatory factors, due to non-vital teeth, due to trauma or caries. The inflammatory processes stimulate the proliferation of periapical epithelial remnants such as the remains of Malazzes, cravicular epithelium, sinus lining or fistulous tracts. Objective: To report the diagnosis and surgical treatment through enucleation of a periapical cyst located in the anterior region of the maxilla. Case Report: Patient diagnosed with periapical cyst in the anterior region of the maxilla, underwent surgical treatment through enucleation and curettage under local anesthesia. Conclusion: Periapical cysts are benign lesions, of an inflammatory nature that treated through surgical enucleation, when well indicated, have shown good results.
