Abstract

Pulp regeneration involves resolving chronic inflammation and restoring damaged dentoalveolar tissue. Her success requires infection control effects, biomaterials and stem cells. This work presents a clinical view of pulp regeneration, addressing protocols, advantages and limitations. An electronic search was performed at Bireme and Pubmed using the terms: pulp revascularization, regenerative endodontics, regeneration, endodontics in association with the AND operator. Only case reports, case series and clinical trials were included. At the end, 18 articles met the eligibility criteria. No articles were deleted. It was seen that most of the submitted teeth are immature, irrigated with sodium hypochlorite, use tri-antibiotic paste as intracanal medication, are made with clot induction, use MTA as a coronal barrier together with glass ionomer cement, having a positive result from the imposed therapy. Endodontic regeneration is a promising therapy, but it has a high cost, uncertainty of therapeutic success, possibility of coronary pigmentation and calcification.
