Abstract

Introduction: Due to the great demand for more conservative and aesthetic treatments, composites based on photoactivated composite resin Introduction: Bulk-Fill resins emerged in order to facilitate the restorative procedure and contribute to the reduction of failures in this process, and can be used in areas of difficult access, such as in Class II cavities. Objective: To evaluate, from an integrative literature review, the clinical performance of the use of Bulk-Fill Composite resins in class II restorations in posterior teeth. Methods: This is an integrative literature review of a qualitative nature based on the guiding question: What is the clinical performance obtained by Bulk-Fill composite resins used in class II restorations in posterior teeth?. The database was used: U.S. National Library of Medicine (NLM -PubMed), with the following Health Science Descriptors (Decs): Composite Resins, Treatment Outcome, Clinical evaluation, and Dentistry, Operative. Inclusion criteria were articles in English, published between 2017 and 2022 that evaluated the clinical performance of class II restorations performed with Bulk-Fill resins in posterior teeth. The research took place in 6 stages and the articles were included according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Results: The restorations were scored as follows: Alpha: ideal clinical situation; Bravo: Clinically acceptable; Charlie: Clinically unacceptable. The restorations predominantly received Alpha scores. Conclusion: Bulk-Fill composite resins present a positive clinical performance when used in class II restorations in posterior teeth, presenting an ideal or acceptable clinical condition in the studies included in this review.
