Accidents and complications can occur during dental procedures in implant dentistry, such as swallowing and aspiration of foreign bodies, which can generate complications and compromise the patient's physical and psychological well-being. The objective of this work is to report a clinical case of swallowing artifacts used in implant dentistry and its follow-up. An 80-year-old patient, after undergoing the osseointegrated implant insertion procedure, swallowed the key and implant cover set. Chest and abdominal x-rays were taken at approximately 48 and 72 hours, in addition to guidance on a diet rich in fiber. 14 days after the incident, new x-rays were taken and it was found that the lump was no longer in the gastrointestinal tract, suggesting that it had been expelled. The patient was followed up weekly for 1 month, and it was observed that there was no change in his physical or psychological state. Therefore, in addition to warning that these complications may occur, it is proposed that professionals look for ways to prevent accidents and professional conduct in these cases, with guidance and monitoring, is of great importance.
