Abstract

Introduction. Dupuytren's disease is a hereditary, benign, chronic and progressive condition that is characterized by fibrotic changes in the palmar and digital fascia, leading to limited finger movements, as well as deformities and contractures. It is more common in males, but few studies evaluate the disease in females. This study aims to evaluate Dupuytren's Disease in females. Methods. A retrospective study that analyzed Dupuytren's disease in female patients, correlating it with postoperative evolution and outcomes. Results. Of the 24 women analyzed, 91.6% had surgical indications, and 78.2% underwent surgery, with 62.5% classified as Tubiana 3 or 4. Carpal tunnel syndrome was present in 33.3% of cases. Conclusion. Dupuytren's disease has a more severe course in women.
