Extirpación del Tercer Molar Superior Desplazado al Espacio Infratemporal: Reporte de Caso

Introducción: La cirugía de extracción de terceros molares puede estar relacionada con varias complicaciones. El desplazamiento de los terceros molares superiores al espacio infratemporal es una complicación poco frecuente en la cirugía oral, y por las características de este espacio, el manejo merece atención. Objetivo: Este estudio tiene como objetivo reportar un caso clínico de un tercer molar desplazado al espacio infratemporal y su remoción en forma ambulatoria. Caso clínico: Paciente masculino de 15 años fue remitido al servicio de la Universidad Federal de Uberlandia bajo la denuncia de desplazamiento del elemento 18 al seno maxilar. Después de una investigación clínica y radiográfica exhaustiva, se encontró que el diente estaba ubicado en el espacio infratemporal. Como tratamiento, optamos por su retirada inmediata con anestesia local. El paciente evolucionó con buena cicatrización y sin complicaciones. Consideraciones finales: El diagnóstico correcto del desplazamiento dentario es fundamental para el tratamiento. Observó que el diente se movió al espacio infratemporal, la manipulación debe realizarse de la manera más atraumática posible, y los exámenes de imagen son fundamentales para el correcto diagnóstico y ubicación del elemento desplazado.
