Abstract

The aim of this present study is to describe a case of mandibular cementoblastoma treated by surgical excision associated to extraction of the involved tooth. Also, a review of English-language literature of all cases of mandibular cementoblastoma available on PubMed/Medline between January 1955 to May 2022 was performed. This study demonstrated that the mandibular cementoblastoma is most commom in females with age between third and fourth decades of life with predilection for the body mandibular region associadted to lower firsts molars. The treatment most common was surgical excision with or without extraction of the involved tooth. Although, there are other described therapies as apicoectomy, endodontic treatment and resection associated or not to bone reconstruction. Cementoblastoma is an uncommon lesion, but when present, it is more associated with the mandible. Therefore, it is interesting to know the mandibular region most commonly involved and the types of treatments, as well as the profile of patients most commonly affected.
