Abstract

The search for aesthetic ideals has led to an increase in the search for invasive or non-invasive interventions. The use of dermal fillers as a "less" invasive and temporary alternative has shown a great growth; similarly, an increase in complications has been observed. The objective of this work was to analyze the most recent scientific production on risk situations involving the use of orofacial fillers. To this end, scientific articles were selected from the Medline platform in the period between 2015 and 2022. The analysis of the study shows that anatomical and vascular knowledge is of utmost importance for the success of the procedure, besides these, the use of materials, the application technique and the care with biosafety are highlighted. Professionals should be aware of the possibility of risk and technical support for the treatment of possible complications.
